Infection Control COVID-19
DURING THE CURRENT PANDEMIC WE HAVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE RESIDENTIAL SERVICES FOR ALL OUR CLIENTS. AS ESSENTIAL WORKERS, OUR STAFF ARE FULLY TRAINED IN INFECTION CONTROL PROCEDURES, REGULARLY TESTED FOR COVID-19, AND FULLY ABLE TO PROVIDE A SAFE PLACE FOR ANYONE IN TREATMENT.
- Potential clients will be asked about any recent travel prior to admission. This information will be reviewed by the Intake Coordinator and Medical Director prior to scheduling admission.
- Potential clients will be screened for acute respiratory illness prior to scheduling admission – they will be asked if they have a cough, fever, shortness of breath or any other symptoms that may indicate an acute respiratory illness. This information will be documented on their pre-admission paperwork by Intake Coordinator and reviewed with the Medical Director prior to scheduling admission.
- When Campobello is transporting potential clients into residential treatment, they will be screened by our staff driver for acute respiratory illness prior to transportation – the Campobello driver will ask to check their temperature, and they will be asked if they have a cough, fever, shortness of breath or any other symptoms that may indicate an acute respiratory illness. This information will be reported immediately to the Intake Coordinator and reviewed with the Medical Director prior to transport.
- If a potential client has an acute respiratory infection, they will be advised to delay admission until their symptoms (including fever) have resolved and they have been cleared by their health care professional.
- If a client does not meet any of the above, they will be asked to check their temperature the night before and morning of admission and to notify Campobello right away if it is>100.3 F or if they feel they have a subjective temperature.
- Additionally, potential clients will be asked if they have received this year’s seasonal flu vaccine. If they have not, they will be encouraged to talk to their health care provider about receiving it prior to admission.
- To safeguard our clients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily discontinued weekend visiting, the weekly Alumni group, and all outside 12 Step meetings.
